Why Stuff Is Worth Less Than VJM Publishing

Many New Zealanders were surprised last week by reports that the Stuff news portal at www.stuff.co.nz was worth less than one dollar. How could it be possible that our foremost media portal, which employs hundreds of people, has a lower net value than a ramshackle outfit like VJM Publishing? This essay explains.

Stuff has a world Alexa rank in the top 4,000, and was ranked 7th in New Zealand at time of writing. They get hundreds of times more traffic than VJM Publishing does. They have been legitimised in most people’s minds as the “mainstream media” and, despite being shit, are considered to be “proper” journalism.

So how can they make less money? The simple answer comes down to who owns Stuff and what they have bought ownership for.

The VJM Publishing strategy is not to churn out vast numbers of shitty articles, with clickbait headlines, about vapid celebrities, in the hope of tricking some pleb into clicking on some more clickbait in the form of an advertisement.

No wonder advertising revenue is plummeting, if that is the business model.

VJM Publishing doesn’t make money from spamming Google ads through every page or by having banks of them at the bottom of every article like Stuff does. In fact, we don’t make any money from advertising revenue – we make it from selling books. Every page on this website has a set of links to our book sale pages on Amazon and TradeMe.

Making a living selling books is tough, but it’s possible. The trick is to produce material of a high enough quality that it promotes and advertises itself. This is the secret to ranking well in the Google algorithm, because that algorithm can estimate a page’s quality by measuring the responses of its readers. If the readers tend to click away quickly, it’s probably a low-quality page, and vice-versa.

This is a different business plan to that of Stuff, but we are in fact a publishing company, not an advertising seller (or reseller). As such, we compete on quality and not on volume.

This company operates under the logic that if we can provide quality articles about esoteric subjects and alternative psychology, as well as intelligent political commentary from an alt-centrist perspective, that this will give us an edge. As long as this edge leads people to become aware of our books, some people will buy them, and we make profits.

All of this sounds so obvious, that the question has to be asked: why doesn’t Stuff do similar?

The first thing is to look at who owns the New Zealand media: essentially it’s owned by international banking and finance interests. This was demonstrated by us here at VJM Publishing, in an example of the kind of journalism that the mainstream media will never give you.

These international banking and finance interests don’t care if they lose money from Stuff. They gain something of far, far greater value: control of the narrative. Thanks to having control of the narrative, they can normalise all kinds of things that are in their benefit. In principle, every article on Stuff has been calculated to suit the agenda of its owners.

By directing Stuff to constantly cry and scream about racism, those owners achieve several objectives.

The international banking and finance interests make enormous profits from mass immigration. Not only does every new immigrant push the price of housing up and generate one new mortgage account, but their cheaper labour also pushes the cost of running a business down. On top of all that, their presence destroys the solidarity of the host nation, making it easier to rule over. Win-win-win.

The major opponents to the mass importation of cheap labour are the native working class. They lose the most heavily as they don’t tend to own houses, and they tend to sell rather than hire labour. As such, the mainstream media makes a great effort to paint these people as ignorant bigots who oppose mass immigration out of nothing but pure hatred.

It has to be understood that the mainstream media stokes up hysteria about racism for money. Not only does it generate clicks and traffic, but it also normalises the idea that mass immigration is normal and that anyone objecting to it is evil. Multiculturalism destroys the ability of the host nation to resist the predations of the international banking and finance classes – and the latter know this intuitively.

By directing Stuff to fill space with crap about Meghan Markle, they also achieve several objectives.

Foremost of these are wasting people’s time and conscious awareness on shit. If the mainstream media informed people about issues that directly impacted their well-being, it would agitate them. This might lead to chaos, which is bad for business. Much better to have a passive population who can be milked for profits without protest.

The best thing for business is for the populace to be induced into maximum docility. Perfection would be a herd of consumers that only get excited when the next product is released. So the mainstream media is directed to fill their pages with fluff pieces about irrelevant people. Meghan Markle, who has no connection to New Zealand at all, is the ideal subject.

All of these objectives serve one greater meta-objective: to gain control over our minds. Whoever controls the mainstream media – otherwise known as the apparatus of propaganda – controls the minds of the people. They control what the people hear, what the people think, what the people consider normal. Effectively they control how the people react to every stimulus that is put before them.

It’s an enormous power, perhaps the archetypal modern expression of what Elementalists call silver magic.

In summary: the international banking and finance interests who own the mainstream media are happy to lose money from it as long as they gain control of the narrative, because this confers a great deal of power. The elites run Stuff as a loss-leader to capture the attention of the masses in the same way that supermarkets run chocolate specials as loss-leaders. The losses from it are written off against greater profits elsewhere.

VJM Publishing, by contrast, is run as an actual business, whose mission is to provide quality information, forecasting and analysis in exchange for money. As such, we have to maintain a net worth above zero.

Everything’s Legal If You Have Superior Firepower

The majority of New Zealanders wander the streets in a child-like stupor, thoughts of flickering television and cellphone screens like a safety blanket around their minds. So when reality intrudes, it can have a powerfully disturbing effect. Sometimes people realise that life is much different to what the screens say it is. This essay explains one recent example.

Much discussion has filled conscious space recently on the subject of whether the Level 4 coronavirus lockdowns were legal in New Zealand. Many people, including Leader of the Opposition Simon Bridges, have questioned whether New Zealand law actually affords the Government the ability to shutdown the entire country and to force people to stay in their homes.

Even more discussion was created by the release of the Sixth Labour Government’s COVID-19 Public Health Response Bill recently. Section 20 gives the right to any “enforcement officer” (notably not “Police officer”) to enter private property without a warrant if they have “reasonable grounds to believe” that Section 11 of the bill is not being complied with.

This section of the bill has upset many people, because it seems to be doing away with a number of fundamental human rights. It seems like we New Zealanders have suddenly lost the right to free assembly and the right to unreasonable search and seizure. How, these people are asking, can such a thing be possible?

Many of the people commentating on these issues haven’t thought hard enough about how the world actually works.

There are five million of us stuck down here in the South Pacific, closer to the middle of nowhere than any other nation. The British Empire that created the order of New Zealand society is long, long, long gone, the rump state (the United Kingdom) now being a sad parody of its former glory. We have not been independent for long enough to have created a philosophical or spiritual tradition that we can fall back on for wisdom.

Our situation is very much like that of William Golding’s boys in Lord of the Flies. There is no higher power to which we can appeal. There is no wise and benevolent authority looking out for the goodwill of all people. There is no God here, just the Sixth Labour Government. We’re all alone – and this loneliness risks turning us feral.

In the situation we’re in, the ten thousand or so Police officers in the country are the law. If you doubt this assertion, ask yourself this – what happens when a Police officer breaks the law? The answer is: nothing. If you doubt that assertion, wait for something to come from today’s revelation that the Police trialled facial recognition technology on the populace without their knowledge, and without permission to do so.

Or wait for anything to come from the Operation Whakahumanu harassment campaign, where hundreds of Police officers were sent to the houses of various Internet commentators in an effort to intimidate them into silence. Using the Police to intimidate one’s political critics is illegal – but there is no-one to hold the perpetrators to account.

The reality is this: the Government of our country is a pack of pirates, who have arrogated to themselves the right to enslave the rest of us with laws that are enforced by arse-licking sycophants, who are themselves happy to destroy their fellow man in exchange for a full belly. This is true whether the Prime Minister is from Labour or National, because in either case they represent the piratical ruling class and not the New Zealand people.

The arse-licking sycophants don’t care what the Government tells them to do, as long as they get paid and get pats on the head for being good boys. As this column has previously discussed, the Police will kill to enforce any law, no matter how trivial. This follows inevitably from the fact, as this column as also previously discussed, that the psychology of Police officers and their relationship to the Government is analogous to that of dogs and their masters.

However, if you don’t like it, what can you do about it? They have all the guns, therefore there’s nothing you can do, in practice, to resist their will. As Mao Tse Tung realised, political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. One man with a firearm can easily keep several dozen under control out of a fear of getting shot. Ten thousand men with firearms, like our current Police force, confers legitimacy.

New Zealanders mistakenly think that our votes confer legitimacy to the Government, who in turn delegate some legitimacy to the Police. The reality is that whoever has the guns, the organisation and the will to use them has the power, and in our current situation that’s the Police and the Army. Therefore, it is the loyalty of the Police and the Army that confers power – and they take orders from the ruling class, both the visible government and the invisible government.

If you disagree, ask yourself by what process New Zealand law came to be the law in the first place, or ask yourself what the law would be if New Zealand was invaded by a hostile foreign power and an occupation government installed. The fact is that all life on Earth operates under the law of the gun: everything is legal if you have the firepower to get away with making it so.

There is only one simple way out of this grim situation.

The first step is to rally around this sevenfold conception of inherent human rights. The Sevenfold Conception is an elementalist exposition of inherent, God-given human rights that are not to be violated by any government law or action. If all New Zealanders would rally around this conception, we would no longer allow the Government to divide and conquer us by playing off factions that support one right against factions that support another.

The second step is to normalise the recognition of this sevenfold conception of human rights until it becomes commonly accepted, in all instances, that it applies. This will involve the raising of a parallel Police force – one that is loyal to the soil, the water, the wind and the Sun of these isles, and to the people from them above all.

A Police force that has been made to swear to the Sevenfold Conception before becoming officers will not slavishly obey orders to violate the human rights of New Zealanders. Not before the Sevenfold Conception is widely understood, and is widely insisted upon, can we can expect that our rights to free assembly, to self-defence, to free speech, to unreasonable search and seizure and to access spiritual sacraments will go unviolated.

The Political Alliance That Would Terrify The New Zealand Establishment

Four months out from a General Election, people start talking about potential political alliances. Once it becomes clear that certain parties are unlikely to clear the 5% threshold, teaming up becomes the obvious way forwards. Although most discussions of this nature are unfruitful, there’s one option that would upend the New Zealand political order.

The Establishment parties are National on the right, Labour on the left and New Zealand First in the centre. These parties are full of the old, mature people who want to maintain the status quo but with slight adjustments. These parties represent those who already have it good, so they most they want to do is tinker.

From this cozy arrangement came the Alliance Party, which provided an alternative on the left. This alternative left is now represented by the Green Party, who developed out of the Alliance (although the Greens are arguably now part of the neoliberal globalist establishment). The other alternative parties are ACT on the right and The Opportunities Party in the centre.

These three parties are the only ones to have consistently offered meaningful alternatives to the status quo over the past quarter century.

The basic logic of an ACT-TOP alliance is that the two parties share many sentiments, both moral and economic. Both parties oppose cannabis prohibition, both are in favour of euthanasia rights and abortion rights. Both appeal primarily to young and educated people. An alliance between the two might allow for them to come close to the 5% threshold on their own merits, without needing Seymour to win in Epsom.

This hints at the idea that gives National and Labour party strategists sleepless nights: a grand alliance between all of the anti-Establishment parties.

As it is, the anti-Establishment forces are so disorganised that the major parties can easily knock them out. All that Labour and the Greens have to do to keep the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party from threatening their position is to adopt ALCP policies as they become popular, and mainstream voters will vote for the established left parties so as to “not waste a vote”.

Likewise, National can keep ACT and the New Conservatives small by adopting the most popular of their policies. If either of them have a policy that attracts more than half a percent of votes on its own (which is about what the ALCP wins), National can and will simply adopt it themselves, leaving the smaller parties holding their dicks.

What would really put the shits up the Establishment would be if all of these minor parties, instead of letting themselves get divided and conquered, came together as a single bloc. This anti-Establishment bloc would unite on the basis that a new political order is of primary importance, with the precise details being secondary (note that the New Conservatives, not wanting change, are not part of this).

Many people want alternative politics, but are put off the Greens because they know that if the Greens get enough to get into Parliament, they will inevitably bring rubbish like Marama Davidson and Golriz Ghahraman in with them. They are also put off ACT because ACT’s unrepentant neoliberalism seems like a recipe for more of the suffering that we’re already enduring.

This alliance would assuage both concerns. Not only would the Greens be limited to a few members (or, better yet, excluded altogether), but the presence of centrist elements would help moderate Seymour’s soulless “show me the money” hypercapitalism. Mirroring this, Seymour would provide a sober restraint to the potential kookery from the other parties.

It’s worth noting here that, should it be decided the Greens really are an Establishment party, it’s possible to find an element of the alternative left elsewhere. Amanda Vickers is intelligent, has developed a respected social media profile and has done good work for the Social Credit Party, which once was strong enough to get over 20% in the 1981 General Election. Either she, the Social Credit Party leader Chris Leitch, or both, could combine with the best ACT and TOP candidates to create an Alternative A-Team.

Such an alliance would benefit from the leadership of Seymour, who is highly respected among Generation X and younger voters (some go as far as to declare him the true Leader of the Opposition). It could count on the current numbers of votes achieved by all the constituent parties (ACT got 13,075 votes in 2017, and TOP 63,260), plus two major groups of new voters.

The first are those put off from supporting alternative parties by the 5% threshold. This threshold is a hurdle so high that only three new parties have surmounted it in 24 years – the Alliance/Greens, New Zealand First and ACT, and the latter now relies on winning the Epsom electorate for any Parliamentary representation (1).

This division of alternative forces across three or more parties severely weakens them, and the 5% threshold, like a battlefield reaver, finishes them off. An ACT-TOP-Socred alliance would obviate any realistic fear of inducing wasted votes – even if they did not get 5%, they would still have Epsom, and so could realistically count on at least four or five seats to begin with.

The second major group of likely new voters are those who are put off by all the retards in the other parties. Characters like Davidson and Ghahraman, although they are idolised by Marxist malcontents, place a hard upper limit on how much support their parties can ever get from the public at large. The vast majority of voters listen to them and are repulsed.

A genuine Alternative Alliance with a top seven of David Seymour, Geoff Simmons, Amanda Vickers, some intelligent young candidates like TOP’s Joshua Love and Matthew Pottinger, and rounded off by ACT’s deputy Beth Houlbrooke, would have a minimum of objectionable weirdos while still maintaining a firm anti-Establishment line. The coming of such a movement would land tsunami-like upon the New Zealand Establishment.

This would not require the dismantling of the existing parties, merely their temporarily coming together for the sake of the General Election. Then the nature of the alliance could be revisited.

(1) This article initially stated that ACT has never cleared the 5% threshold. Credit to Stephen Berry for the correction.

VJMP Anzac Day Address 2020: The Federalisation Imperative

The original proposed articles of Australian federation stated that voting rights were to be restricted to white people and Maoris only. The founders had assumed from the beginning that New Zealand would join the Federation, but they also knew that white New Zealanders were unwilling to see Maoris as lessers. Therefore, they were unable to restrict the franchise to white people only.

Given that the Australian representatives were willing to go to such lengths to accommodate the colony of New Zealand, they were surprised by the decision of the New Zealand representatives to not join the Federation. It seemed obvious that, as all the other British colonies in the Southeastern corner of the world were joining together, New Zealand would follow suit. But they did not.

Although the century that has passed since then has seen the thousands of kilometres between us reduced to a few hours in a plane, the Mistake of 1901 has never been repealed. Australia and New Zealand have continued to insist on their own differences, despite that no differences are apparent to outsiders. Although the whole world sees us as one, we do not – at least not officially.

To be fair, there was little pressure to unite while the West was so far ahead of any competitors. Even as recently as 1980, the combined Anzac economy was greater than that of China (according to World Bank figures). India and Indonesia were even further behind. The possibility that these countries could ever get it together enough to pose a military threat to us seemed remote.

Because China was so poor in 1980, they had a much greater potential for further development than Australia and New Zealand had. As such, their economic growth over the last 40 years has been much greater than ours. Over the last 40 years, China has transformed itself from an Africa-tier level of poverty to having a higher GDP per capita than either Argentina or Iran. The total Chinese economy is now over seven times the size of the Anzac one.

Currently, the Indonesian economy is smaller than that of the Anzac Empire, reflecting the fact that their GDP per capita is less than a twelfth of ours (some $4,000 per year). However, if they also underwent a 40-year stretch of relentless turbocharged economic development, as China did, then their economy would become five times bigger. And that would be a power right on our doorstep.

These growing Asian powers present us with a dilemma. The easy dominance that Australia and New Zealand has taken for granted for two centuries no longer applies. It’s no longer certain that the other Anglo powers have enough spare resources to keep the South Asian sealanes open. If not, then the burden falls necessarily on us.

Some have suggested a “Big Australia” in response to these challenges. This strategy involves opening the borders to all kinds of immigration, social consequences be damned. But there’s an easier way to add five million people to the population of Australia: welcome New Zealand into the Anzac Federation.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison recently mooted the idea of open borders between New Zealand and Australia, arguing that such a measure would help restart the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic was over. He is entirely correct, as is evidenced by the fact that previous measures to integrate the two economies have resulted in increased wealth. However, open borders don’t go far enough.

The Anzac Empire needs to unite to meet the challenges of this century, one in which the continued Anglo dominance of the seas might not endure. New Zealand needs to formally become part of the natural ruling power of the Southeast corner of the world stage.

We must accept the federalisation imperative.

Becoming one, united Anzac Empire would necessitate a change of thinking for New Zealanders. We are used to thinking of ourselves as a small, isolated and meaningless part of the world occupying a tiny corner of the world. A united Anzac Empire would belong to the second tier of world powers – with a future as a first tier power beckoning.

This realisation is perhaps best conveyed in raw numbers. As of 2019, Australian GDP sits at $1,376 billion (USD), while New Zealand GDP sits at $204 billion. The Australian population is 25,500,000, while the New Zealand population is 4,800,000. The Australian land area is 7,682,300 and the New Zealand land area is 263,310.

Therefore, the Anzac Empire would have a GDP of $1,580 billion, making it the 13th largest economy in the world, just behind Russia. It would have a population of over 30,000,000 and a land area of 7,945,600 square kilometres. Having won 17 Nobel Prizes, it would belong to the same cultural and intellectual tier as nations like Italy and the Netherlands.

Perhaps most importantly, the Anzac Empire would have the world’s single largest Exclusive Economic Zone. The EEZ of Australia is over 10 million square kilometres, and that of New Zealand over 4 million. The combined EEZ of 14 million square kilometres would be larger than that of America. This fact underlines the degree to which the Anzac Empire will be a maritime power.

Commensurately, the first priority of the updated federation must be to assure our territorial independence through developing a number of Trident-style nuclear submarines. An arsenal of a few hundred submarine-launched nuclear ballistic missiles would ensure the Anzac Empire’s place among the top rung of global powers, and safeguard our future prosperity.

The second priority must be to ensure that each province of the empire have its own culture. The spirit of the Anzac people is one of independence – therefore, the federal government must govern with a light touch. The vastness of the Empire must be recognised, and this means that the constituent states must be allowed to develop unique cultures that impress the others.

The Anzac Empire is today where Rome was in 300 B.C. We have enough might and culture to impress barbarians and minor nations, but our time in the Sun is yet to arrive. If, as seems true, the Spear of Destiny has leapt from the Atlantic to the Pacific, it means that the Anzac Empire is as entitled as anyone else to contest for the leadership of the world. Let us lay the foundations for it then.

An Anzac Empire based around the Tasman Sea, and with the expanses of the Australian continent as imperial possessions, would inevitably become one of the world’s foremost powers. Just an inevitably, it seems like it’s fate for Australia and New Zealand to combine in this manner. The Mistake of 1901 shall be repealed, and this will loose the Anzac Empire upon the world stage.
